Authorities have confirmed that a US Border Patrol agent was killed in a Texas Car Accident last Saturday evening, in Fort Hancock.
According to reports, Agent Leopoldo Cavazos Jr, 29 years old, died in the ambulance as he was being transported to El Paso Hospital.
Authorities said that no details of the accident will be released until the investigation has been fully finished. However, insiders implied that US Border Patrol agents use ATVs or all terrain vehicles when patrolling the desert and other areas which cannot be easily reached by regular vehicles.
Cavazos graduated, hailed from Houston and graduated from the Border Patrol Academy in 2006. He has been stationed in Fort Hancock since his graduation.
Cavazos is survived by his wife and his two children.
